THE SIZING OF STOCK LEVELS IN THE PROCESSING INDUSTRY: A STUDY IN AN ISOTHERMAL FACTORY

The case study presented here aims to evaluate the reduction of stock in the storage area of raw materials from a family of products, in order to reduce the quantity stored. For its implementation was carried out a study of the current situation with the practices used by the company. The storage area accounts for 20% of logistics costs and investing in improved policy, aimed at its reduction, reduces the costs of such an operation. Efficient management of the storage operation allows more effective planning as it relates to the employment of financial resources. Thus, we sought to demonstrate how the application of simple concepts stock management and storage, may present significant results in relation to the capital invested in these processes. The present study is the following scenario analysis found the implementation of processes and techniques adopted by the market, setting up a new system for the storage operation. With the presented results was simulated an investment plan with the savings offered by the changes.
