Abstract: it is important for the inventor to record his invention, utility model, or certificate of addition. But the professional of the health area ends up with a technical-scientific legal language, whose content and nomenclatures escape their knowledge. If the inventor does not register his patent and another one registers it, he is prevented from using and commercializing his product. The objective of the research is to elaborate a script of patent registry in simple and intelligible language for a layperson in law, that is, so that health professionals can deposit and request the examination of their own patents. First a review was done on patent registrations, containing the applicable laws and regulations, jurisprudence on problems in patent registrations and academic articles on the subject. Next, an exploratory research was carried out with 6 health professionals, 3 of whom have already registered patents and 3 who have not yet registered. In this way it was possible to know the doubts involved in the patent registration process. A practical manual with flowchart for patent registration was then prepared, using bibliographical review and the doubts of health professionals. For validation, another 9 professionals (different from the exploratory research) will be used: 3 attorneys professionals who will evaluate if the manual has correct legal concepts; 6 health professionals will respond to a dissertation on the registration of patents to verify that the manual was sufficient for understanding, 3 of which have already made patent registrations and 3 that have not yet registered. The results of the research showed the doubts of health professionals, a patent registry manual was developed for health professionals, and it proved adequate by the validation tests.
