Abstract

The present article aims to show results of a case study carried out in a plastic transformation company in the region of Greater São Paulo. The goal of the study is to demonstrate that the advantages of an automation project can bring to a manufacturing industry. From the point of view of the automation of processes, looking for a reduction of time, fatigue and cost. For a collection of data for the use of the concept of triangulation through interviews, observations and relevant documentation. A system of inquiry between the processes, the old method and the current one, was prepared to calculate the real benefits of the project. By means of this analysis it was possible to observe that the improvement project contributes to the development of the company, resulting in greater profits. As the wrappings were distinguished, the times were collected and the costs were measured. Through the evaluations of the results, improvements in the production process were consolidated as a result of lower costs. We can verify that a good improvement project, even if it seems more important for a company, becomes important value of its production system.
