Abstract

This paper intends to analyze crowdfunding’s worth in Brazilian business, first presenting its origin and the structures   of crowdfunding platforms. The resulting benefits from a broader and clearer interaction among company and crowd (not composed of simple customers anymore, but contributors and investors) were highlighted. In the national scenario, it is noteworthy the growth of this financing method that moves US$ 2 million per day on campaigns that include donations, pre-purchasing, loans and even equities acquisitions. The conclusion achieved is that the recent crowdfunding practices already are of great importance in Brazilian economy and society, and so in the rest of the world currently, and still has a great potential to enlarge its dynamic impact.
