Lean Six Sigma is a kind of management that has in their methodology focus on quality and productive performance in operating systems. This article discusses the foundations involved in the issue through the complementarities of these conceptions of management, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. First of all the article explain the DMAIC (define measure, analyze, improve and control) and their respective phases and supporting tools, after the Lean philosophy and principles of lean production. The article aims to show integration of these two conception and their results. The methodology consisted in a theory was based on a literature search an exploratory research which consisted of two case studies in a XYZ company located in Sorocaba, São Paulo. In this article studies alignment strategies of Lean and Six Sigma and its results.
