ACCIÓN PARTICIPATIVA PARA LA GESTIÓN SOSTENIBLE DE RESIDUOS EN UNA COMUNIDAD VULNERABLE DE BELO HORIZONTE

Las aglomeraciones urbanas aparecen como respuesta al crecimiento de la población, demandando viviendas cercanas a los grandes centros donde existe una mayor oferta de trabajo y servicios básicos, provocando daños ambientales por la falta de planificación de las construcciones. Este estudio utilizó la investigación acción para comprender los cambios en el comportamiento de 14 familias que viven en una comunidad pobre en la región metropolitana de Belo Horizonte, utilizando la educación no formal para fomentar la correcta gestión de residuos, a través de talleres en los que hubo observación directa y participante en reuniones presenciales y remotas (online), cuestionarios estructurados y entrevistas para evaluar el cambio de comportamiento frente a la gestión de residuos – reducción, reutilización, reciclaje y compostaje. De estos, el 35,7% fueron completamente adoptados por las 14 familias, siendo un 33,9% que ya adoptaron y continuaron con sus prácticas sostenibles, haciendo un total de 69,6% de acciones adoptadas, generando menor impacto en el medio ambiente y mejorando la calidad de vida a través de acciones continuas.
