Abstract

This work refers to the complex and comprehensive relations arising from production processes, marketing and operations run by organizations. It is expected the understanding on aspects related to sustainable initiatives with respect to energy and development. The relevance of the topic occurs in the interdisciplinary thought existing in the concept of sustainability, where social, economic and environmental assumptions influence the relations coming from emerging concepts for the energy sector. In order to assess the organizations sustaintability, it will be used a reductionist approach known as interdisciplinarity matrix, which is applied to an energy company as case study. Then, it is shown a proposal of a systemic approach to the sustaintability assessment of organizations which is based on the unification of two different methodologies.
