POLÍTICA NACIONAL DE MOBILIDADE URBANA E OS OBJETIVOS DE DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVEL DA AGENDA 2030 DA ONU

Abstract

Sustainability in the urban context is not limited to environmental issues, as it also encompasses social and economic aspects. A sustainable mobility system is one that promotes social inclusion, ensuring that all segments of the population have equal access to the opportunities offered by the city. Similarly, sustainable mobility helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat local pollution and preserve natural resources. In this sense, planning and managing urban mobility are fundamental to building fairer and more sustainable cities. With these ideas in mind, this study aims to highlight the effectiveness of public urban mobility policies in Brazil, assessing their compatibility with the principles of sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to identify improvements to promote sustainable urban mobility in Brazilian cities. This study is the result of a literature review using qualitative and descriptive research. In addition, it was concluded that although the National Urban Mobility Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals provide a robust basis for promoting sustainable urban mobility, a continuous effort is needed to integrate and harmonize these elements. The effective implementation of policies requires a coordinated approach, investment in infrastructure, and greater public awareness.
