APPLICATION OF 3D PRINTING IN DENTAL IMPLANT DENTISTRY AND ORCHOMAXILOFACIAL REHABILITATION IN CUBA

For several years now, oral implantology and oral-maxillofacial rehabilitation have greatly benefited from the use of CAD/CAM technologies and, currently, the worldwide trend is the digitization of procedures to achieve more reliable and esthetically appealing results. The main objective of this research was to develop biomedical devices (system of retention and mechanical fixation accessories for osseointegrated prostheses and surgical guides for oral implantology) using CAD/CAM technologies that can be implemented in the hospital network of the Cuban Health System. Design and simulation programs, visualization and medical image processing software, 3D printers and biocompatible resins were used. The elements of the accessory system and the surgical guide splints were printed.
